About Me

My name is Katie Cey Gillespie. In July 2012 I married my amazing husband Joel, and the day after we returned from our honeymoon, we received the keys to our house. It was built in 1940, is close to a beautiful park, and has a killer view to the west, facing the sunset.

With our house, we also inherited a cat that the previous owners left behind. After several attempts to ignore him, he made his way into our hearts, and has become part of our family. Now we’re Bob’s official owners, and we take pictures of him like he’s our child (did I mention I’m horribly allergic to cats, and swore I’d never own one?) (but how could you say no to this?)

I am the second oldest of 7 children. I love my brothers and sisters. When I’m with them, I feel complete.

In July 2011, after 7 1/2 years of college, I graduated with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. I love Love LOVE my job. I work at a skilled nursing facility with a subacute/extended care facility, as well as an outpatient facility and aquatics. I not only help take people’s pain away, but I make them stronger, get them back to their prior level of function, and back home where they belong :). It’s rewarding, challenging, fast paced, and I feel blessed to do what I do.

This blog is a way for me to mostly share crafty things I do around the house, or things I’ve done in the past (such as all the wedding stuff I made myself), or a new recipe I’ve tried out. I love creating things, and people often ask me how I did them. Sometimes, yes, they’re from Pinterest, but often I get an idea and then just figure out how to make it work (my mom was a lot like me when she was younger and had more time, and Google is a great resource as well).

I’m excited for this new little adventure, and hopefully I’ll keep up on it!
